Why our jobs board shows fewer jobs, and why that's the point
Most fresher job sites are full of roles that closed months ago. Here's how we check every job is still open before showing it, and how often we check again.
If you've looked for a first job in India, you know this: you find a role that fits, write a careful application, and hear nothing. Weeks later you find out the position was filled before you even saw it. The listing just never came down.
It happens because most job sites copy a listing once and never look at it again. It's cheaper to show 10,000 jobs than to check whether 10,000 jobs are real.
We went the other way. We only show a job if we've recently confirmed it's still open. Sometimes that means fewer jobs. We think a short list you can trust beats a long one that wastes your evenings.
How we check
Jobs reach the board in two ways, and we check each one differently.
From the company's own hiring system. Many startups use tools like Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby to run their careers pages. Those tools publish every open role. We read that list directly, every 4 hours. The moment a company removes a role, it disappears from our board on the next check. These cards say Verified open.
Found on the web. To cover more companies across India, we also search the web for new roles twice a day. Nothing found that way goes up automatically. We open the job page first, and only show it if the page is really there, mentions the role, and doesn't say anything like "no longer accepting applications". Then we open it again every 24 hours. If a page stops working for three days, the job comes down.
If the page loaded but we couldn't read the details (some careers sites are built in a way that hides the text from anything but a browser), the card says Link checked instead of Verified open. We'd rather tell you that than pretend.
What we never list
- Job portal reposts. Every Apply button goes to the company's own careers page. Never Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed or a consultancy.
- Senior roles. No "Senior", "Lead", "Manager", or level-2 and above titles on a board meant for beginners.
- Non-IT roles. This board is software, data, cloud, QA, design and similar. Sales and HR internships go elsewhere.
- Anything that asks you to pay. Applying is free. Always.
Two boards, not one
Freshers, interns and apprentices get one board. If you have one or two years of experience, there's a separate board for you, so neither group has to scroll past roles that aren't meant for them.
Old data gets deleted
When a job closes, we keep a record of it for 14 days so the same dead link doesn't sneak back in, then we delete it completely. Same for old news. We don't keep things we don't need.
One honest caveat
Checking that a job is open is not the same as checking the company is a good place to work. We confirm the role exists and is taking applications. Do your own research on the company, and if something ever asks you for money to apply, walk away.
